June 1855 Census shows that Emily P. Collins lived in a framed house valued at $500. She lived with three other people, one whom could be assumed to be her husband and one whom could be assumed to be her son. The Census record also shows that she was 40 years old at the time of the census, had been born in Ontario County and had lived in the County for 40 years. She is also listed as one of the property owners.
